Hey, stumbled upon your blog and enjoyed the election commentary. As I saw this post, myself being from New Orleans, had to step in and correct your observation. Although the perception has been made that Bourbon Street was/is a non-stop shoulder to shoulder crowded party 365 days a year, this is a major misconception. Unless there is a major event in town, ie. Super Bowl, Sugar Bowl, Jazz Fest, Mardi Gras, the Quarter (hence Bourbon Street) is crowded on the weekends but relatively sparse during the weeknights. Granted the volume of people is not quite what it was pre-Katrina but it is slowly improving as New Orleans rebuilds.
Since I went to school in Virginia Beach, couldn't let a Virginian be led astray! :) Enjoyed your blog!

Thanks for setting me straight. I loved your town, by the way. I've been a pretty hard-core traveler for the past 15 years or so, but never managed to make it to New Orleans until this trip.
