Most Germans oppose EU membership for Turkey

A recent poll of German citizens reveals that 63 percent of Germans oppose membership in the EU for Turkey. The reason?
The biggest reason for rejecting Turkey joining the EU is "fear of a growing influence of Islam in Europe," the poll revealed.
There's a shocker. That's a big change from less than four years ago. A similar poll in December 2002 had 60 percent of Germans backing Turkey's admission to the EU.
