Fox News has an interesting item on their site this morning, showing that the peaceful years of 1981-82 were more lethal for the American military than the war years of 2005-06.I suppose this can be at least partly explained by the transition from the decimated post-Vietnam military to the new Reagan army, in which the pace of training exercises was greatly increased, but it's still food for thought.
