UK Muslims: Leave Christmas alone

Britain's Muslims are urging local governments to continue with traditional Christmas celebrations. Not because it's the right thing to do, given that more than 70% of Britons describe themselves as Christians, but because "...attempts to remove religion from the festival were fuelling Right-wing extremism." [There go those damn Christian terrorists again! --ed.]

In 1998, the city of Birmingham renamed their Christmas celebration "Winterval". In 2001, Luton started calling their Christmas lights "Luminos". Pardon me while I puke.

i dont why ppl are cynical about such a beautiful celebration called christmas.. lets not deviate from the thinking that christmas is the time for caring and sharing the love..
