I caught this graphic over at
Watt's Up With That, always a great source of material to counter the global warming/climate change fanatic in your office. You have to look real close to find any region of the US that averaged "much above normal" for 2008 temperatures (Long Island), while most of the rest of the country averaged "near normal" or lower. No area of the continental US was designated "record warmest".
Nice going, Al Gore.
