Power corrupts, absolute power is even more fun

This graphic from Fox News' web site was too good not to grab

The Venezuelan congress has passed an "enabling law" which effectively gives Venezuela's president and chief cartoon character Hugo Chavez the authority to rule by decree for the next 18 months.

Of course, given that the legislation places no apparent limits on his power, what's to stop him from continuing this power beyond 18 months?

Welcome back!

Hope you had a great trip. You must still be jetlagged.
As you can see, while you've been gone things are just as crazy as ever.

My blog was changed to the 'new' blogger at gunpoint. So be prepared, unless you have it already. I don't know what is really so new about it but your comment ID and icon was lost in the process. Some comments vanished altogether. Maybe its a setting at your end, or,.. heck , I have no idea. Can you please try again to see what happens?

I hope things go back to normal.

Thanks! I'll double check the comments. I had to do some tweaking after converting to "new" blogger, too.
