Dumb bumper stickers

Every once in a while, I'll see a bumper sticker that makes me chuckle, but it's not often I see one that really pisses me off. Not even the really vapid left-wing or enviro-fascist bumper stickers bug me, so it was with some surprise that I found myself really irritated by a sticker I saw in Kansas City this morning, where I'm visiting on business this week. Unfortunately, I was driving and couldn't get a picture of it, but it read as follows:

Kansas: As bigoted as you think

The car had Kansas plates, and sported another sticker which read "The religious right is neither", leaving me little doubt as to where the driver's sentiments lay.

My first reaction was one of bemused confusion, followed by anger. Why did this guy assume I'd think Kansans are any more bigoted than anyone else? I've visited Kansas a few times, and I've found Kansans to be fine people with no more (or less) tendency towards bigotry than anyone else I've met.

If this guy is so down on his fellow residents, maybe he should consider moving. Might I suggest California or Massachusetts?

How about Iran? People like that are corrosive.
